Exam 1 Practice Exam
A full-length mock exam — 126 questions, weighted the way the real one should be: 52 on Chapter 25
(Asepsis and Infection Control) and 74 on Chapter 30 (Medications), matching the roughly 45/55 split of
lecture time across Weeks 1–3. Companion to the NUR 110 Exam 1 Study Guide and the shorter
Practice Quiz.
The real exam is taken online, on a computer, so working through this one on a screen is closer to
the real thing than paper would be. Its length and item mix are not published, so this set is sized to the
weighting above rather than to a published blueprint. Give yourself about 2 hours to work the whole set, or about 60 minutes for either
half on its own.
Three parts. Questions 1–58 are the original bank — recall, definitions and
single-step application. Questions 59–116 are scenario and edge-case items: situations to
reason through, two abnormal findings to rank against each other, plausible-but-false causal links,
vague instructions set against specific ones, and classification traps. If you are short of time, the
second half is the harder and the more useful practice. Questions 117–126 are a short third
part, added after a parity audit against the study guide: they cover guide content that no question in
either paper had been testing — applying the nursing process to infection, health care–associated
infection vocabulary and prevention bundles, drug legislation and development, and ampule and vial
technique.
How it works: pick an answer and the rationale appears immediately — why the right answer is right, and
why the tempting wrong ones are wrong. Select-all questions need a Check click; ordering questions are
answered by clicking the steps in sequence. To simulate real conditions instead, cover the rationales
and work straight through, or use Reveal all answers at the end. Nothing is saved when you close the
page, so you can retake it.
Question mix: multiple choice, select-all-that-apply, priority, ordering, true/false, and
fill-in-the-blank, including four metric-conversion items and two dosage-calculation items.
Printing? The printout mirrors what is on screen — print now for a blank practice test, or click Reveal all answers first to print a full answer key with rationales.
