Exam 3 Practice Exam

103 questions · every blueprint area, weighted

Companion to the NUR 120 Exam 3 Study Guide. Give yourself about two hours, or split it across two sittings by half.

The blueprint is 40 multiple-choice questions plus one picture question — weighted respiratory 12 · neurology 8 · cranial nerves 8 · musculoskeletal 8 · ABGs 4 — and it says the cranial-nerve items are “just like the quiz” and that there is NO COMPENSATION on the gases.

This paper follows that weighting with one deliberate exception. Respiratory is the largest block here as it is there. The ABGs are over-represented — about a sixth of this paper against a tenth of the real one — because interpretation is a procedure, and a procedure is learned by repetition rather than by reading. They are also the cheapest marks on the real paper, so the practice is worth more per question than the count suggests.

Starred items test content one of the decks marks with a drawn star or arrow, or that the blueprint names by name. There are six drawn marks in total and every one of them is represented here.

How it works: pick an answer and the rationale appears immediately. Select-all questions need a Check click; ordering questions are answered by clicking the steps in sequence, with an Undo last if you mis-click. Fill-in questions take a word or a number. Nothing is saved when you close the page.

Two halves. Questions 1–45 are recall. Questions 46–103 are scenario and edge-case items, built on the shapes this course actually uses: ranking two abnormal findings, deciding whether one finding really affects another, reading the same finding two opposite ways, choosing a specific instruction over a vague but defensible one, classifying by mechanism rather than by feel, ordering actions where every option is correct, and the distractor whose reasoning is usually right. The second half is the harder practice.

Practice questions written for personal study use, keyed to the respiratory lab deck, the ABG lecture deck and its worksheets, the neurological assessment lab deck and its drawn emphasis marks, the musculoskeletal lab deck, the Week 8 preparation document and the Exam 3 blueprint. The musculoskeletal items moved here from the Exam 2 papers, where the blueprint named no musculoskeletal content. These are not actual CCAC exam items — they are original questions built from the course’s own material.
